So far, there have been 5 card change tricks showcased previously. And one of my dear friend Isa pointed out that the 5th one is the worst. I agree totally. hahaha. Thank you for your honest feedback! So smart! As a reward, I shall give you free advertisement... :D.

Alright, back to the trick. This is a new type of card change. The previous 5 is about changing the front face of the card, this is about changing the back of the card. (Thank you Daryl for helping me with this)

Nowhere To Hide

This trick is of my own invention. It's a modification and combination of certain sleight of hands. The purpose of these moves is to bring out all the 4 Aces from a deck of shuffled cards. After viewing the video, you will know why card magicians should not be involved in a game of luck that deals with cards. Cos their hands are deadly; no cards can hide from them.

The Changes

As we grow up, most of us will experience a change of perspective about boy girl relationships. You might be thinking of never ever getting married when you were young cos boys/girls are disgusting. When teenage comes, most of us get intrigued by the opposite sex. Some will think, "This is the girl/guy I want for life", some will wonder, "Let's have fun?", the rest.... "I'm a nerd, no one will fall for me". Entering into adulthood, a portion of us remains in the teenage mentality, some moved on to the rationale and materialistic side, some to the extreme wild and fun. But there always will be a bunch of.... "I'm still a nerd".

So to the nerds out there: Do you really think that no one will fall for you? If you think so,

YOU ARE RIGHT!

But if you think otherwise, there may still be hope. Go 拜师学艺, learn some magic tricks. Like what Roger always say, "Majic is used for 骗-ing xiao mei mei." (I use them to earn money though :þ ) One golden phrase for you all: When there is a will, there is a way. Everything starts with your mind. Believe it.

Alright... So what does the above compose got to do with this entry of "The Changes"?

Absolutely Nothing! HAHA. Just felt like dumping some rubbish in. Ok, now back to The Changes. Below is the list of updates to this Blog.

1. All tricks have been re-filmed except for the Reverse Matrix. My sis wants to sleep and the camera just nice run out of memory.

2. All the old version videos have been replaced except for the Reverse Matrix. My sis wants to sleep and the camera just nice run out of memory. So I don't get to have a new video to replace the old one.

3. Another exception for the removal of old videos was the Card Change 2. Serene specially requested that this old version of the video not to be removed. Reason being, it was taken in her car and the video just nice captured the nice part of the song Smack That by Akon. (sometimes women have silly requests... Oh well.. give it to them lah... we are gentlemen :D)

4. Obviously, the colour has been changed as well so that the text can be more reader friendly. If anyone has any good suggestion for the colour combination, feel free to voice out. Your name shall be included in the credits section! (But I must be satisfied with the colours first of course.)

5. Last but not least, please refer to the credits section on the left. Those names mentioned there made this blog possible. Thank you all of you! They deserve to be acknowledged so please show your appreciation by visiting that section.

Revamp

Changed the blog address, created a new title, added a background and planted a Sudoku widget and a Vintage Radio (click to listen, if it doesn't autoplay). Trying to make this site as cool as possible and at the same time, fun and amazing.

The next phase would invole re-filming of all the videos with a better camera in a more professional background. It's going to take quite a while though.

Side track a little: Credits to my sister and JJ who helped me filmed these videos. Thank you! ( Btw, I realise both of you have the same initials: JJ. So 巧... :) )

Where Is the Spade?

PLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE YOU WATCH!!

The reason why you should read this entry first is because by just watching alone, you might not understand what is going on.

This trick is about (as the title implies) guessing where the Ace of Spade is. You will be shown 2 Aces of Heart and an Ace of Spade at the beginning. After that... ok you can continue watching the video and find out for yourself. :-)

P.S: The quality sucks because I lowered the quality of my camera to accomodate a 90 sec shot.

"Realization"

It's been quite a while since I blogged but that doesn't mean this blog has been neglected. I have been thinking of a way to showcase my tricks as videos in this blog all these while without revealing my face or broadcast my voice through it. And the conclusion is...... Not possible. What makes certain card tricks amazing and entertaining is the speech, the tone and the facial expression. Take away these essentials and you are left with just the visual effects like those previously showcased. They are amazing still, but like i said, a lot more tricks cannot be displayed without the 3 ingredients. There is also a risk of viewers being able to figure out the tricks by replaying the videos over and over again.

So to be on the safe side, only those which are purely visual effects shall be filmed and displayed here. The rest of the tricks in my arsenal... I can only describe them in words. (But of course not revealing the mechanics behind them. This blog is for me to remember my tricks anyway, and all I need to know is the effect to recall how it's done.)

However, my dear friends and relatives... If any of those tricks being described but not filmed catches your attention, do approach me and ask me to demonstrate it. Always happy to entertain people :) ( but who entertains me?.... )

From Coin to Sparrow

When you watch magic shows on TV, often you will get to see some magicians grab a piece of white handkerchief, drape a piece of cloth over the hands. And all of a sudden, white doves starts flying out from his hands! Amazing isn't it?

Looking at this post's title, think you can get an idea of what this trick is about. Yup, it's about turning a coin into a sparrow... in a creative way... hehehe :-) Anyway, I thought of this trick early in the morning 4am, and it starts with borrowing a coin from the spectator. The coin is then placed into the left hand... and so on and so forth... and ultimately a sparrow appears on the left hand.

The End.

Must be wondering why there isn't a video displaying the illusion right? HAHAHA... the reason is because... it's reserved for the eyes of one person only. So too bad for the rest. Oh, and it shall be called the You Xiao You Huai Trick. (P.S: I didn't come up with this name.)

Card Change 5

Reverse Matrix

Finally, filmed another one. This is a combination of coin and card, and it is dedicated to the small but evil... Ah hahahaha, as promised... but a little late. I realise the quality of the video captured by my webcam sux... argh.... JJ!!, I need your camera...

Card Change 4

There are so many ways to change a card... and this is the 4th one that I know of... I can't remember how many I knew, got to slowly recall one by one... hahaha. That's the purpose of this blog, help me record down all my tricks so that when I'm old, I still can remember what I could do with my hands. And then my children and granchildren and so on will be able to learn all that I knew... Ah hahaha.. Ok, thinking a bit too far off here...

As I was saying, there are really many ways to change a card, manipulate the position of a card in the deck and so on... therefore I think all magicians should abstain from gambling, cos there is a tendency to do something "amazing" with the deck... hahahha

Spin Change

Ok, too free now... so did another trick. This one is called a spin change , the 3rd card change trick. As you can see the card change while its spinning, that's why its called the spin change, duh... Haha. This one is nice too, but has its flaws as well... The main thing about this trick is the angle between the hands of the performer and the eyes of the spectator. The right hand have to be stable at all times, must not move a single bit. Very hard to execute, most probably the hardest of all amongst the card change tricks, but very amazing effect. Enjoy ba.

Card Change 2

Yeah... the exams are finally over. And I can start my journal of magyc and misteries again. Sorry to keep all of you waiting, ah aha. However, due to my current technological incapabilities, I can only take videos up to 20 seconds only. Therefore..., I can't film some of the tricks that requires more than 20 seconds. But still, I manage to film this trick below with the help of JJ!! liang teh, in Serene's car, with the "Smack That" song by Akon... Thank you JJ!

Well, this trick below is suppose to be for our dear Small But Evil during the exams to kill boredom one, but my web cam simply sux (it takes up nearly 50mb of space just to film a 10 sec shot). So here it is...

This 2nd trick is another card change trick. Its amazing as u can stare straight at the card and see it change right in front of your eyes. No covering of card with hand and stuff. However, it has its flaws too... that's why I seldom use this. Ok, enough said, just watch...

Alright, here's the first Magic. Very simple, very beautiful piece of art with stunning effect, my personal favourite =). Remember when you were young, watching some gambling show on TV? Those 赌侠，赌圣，赌王，赌鬼，赌whatever, have to clench their hands tightly and 挫 their cards like as though they are squeezing juice out of an orange? This trick is a revolution... The modern way of doing things...short and sweet. I like =).
